What We Buy
If it is fine jewelry, there is a strong chance we buy it. Below are the categories we purchase most — all evaluated free, with a written offer the same day.
Engagement rings, solitaire pendants, diamond stud earrings, tennis bracelets, and anniversary bands. We evaluate loose diamonds as well. GIA and AGS certifications increase the offer but are not required.
Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, David Yurman, Harry Winston, Chopard, and Mikimoto. Designer pieces with original boxes and receipts command the strongest offers, but we purchase without packaging as well.
Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Retro, and Mid-Century pieces. Estate jewelry is evaluated on craftsmanship, rarity of design, and current collector demand — not only metal weight.
Natural ruby, emerald, sapphire, alexandrite, and other precious stone jewelry. Treatment status and origin documentation — particularly for Burma ruby and Kashmir sapphire — significantly affect value. Unheated stones with certificates draw a notable premium.
14k, 18k, and 22k yellow, white, and rose gold. Platinum rings, chains, bracelets, and settings. Plain gold chains and bangles are valued by weight and purity; pieces with strong design or brand provenance receive an additional premium above melt value.
Have a watch to sell alongside your jewelry? We are San Antonio's dedicated luxury watch buyer as well — Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, and all major brands. One stop, one offer, one payment.
The Process
Step 01
Visit us at 11808 Wurzbach Rd — no appointment needed. Or submit photos and details through our sell form and we will respond the same business day with a preliminary range before you make the trip.
Step 02
We examine your piece in front of you — stone grades, metal purity, craftsmanship, condition, and any brand markings. For diamonds, we test and measure on site. The evaluation takes about 15–30 minutes and is always free.
Step 03
You receive a written offer with a clear explanation of how we arrived at the number. We reference current market data for comparable pieces. No pressure to accept — the evaluation is yours to keep regardless.
Step 04
Accept the offer and you are paid immediately — cash, bank wire, or store credit toward a future purchase. Store credit typically adds 5–10% above the cash offer and can be applied to watches, jewelry, or accessories.
Pricing Factors
Carat weight for diamonds. Center stone weight is the single largest driver of diamond value. A 2.0ct diamond is not simply twice the value of a 1.0ct stone — large stones are rarer and command a disproportionate premium. GIA or AGS certification removes grade ambiguity and typically adds 15–25% to an offer compared to an uncertified stone of stated equivalent specs. If your diamond has a certificate, bring it.
Designer brand premium. A Cartier Love bracelet, Tiffany Soleste ring, or Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace commands a meaningful premium above its material value alone. Brand prestige creates a secondary market of buyers who specifically seek the maker's hallmark. The premium is highest when original boxes, pouches, and receipts are present — but the hallmark alone is sufficient for us to reflect brand value in the offer.
Metal purity. 18k gold contains 75% pure gold versus 58.3% for 14k — a measurable difference in melt value that runs through every offer. Platinum, at 85–95% purity in most fine jewelry, is valued by weight as well. For plain gold pieces without designer brand or exceptional craftsmanship, melt value is often the primary pricing floor. Knowing whether your piece is 14k, 18k, or platinum before you visit sets realistic expectations.
Condition and settings. Prongs in good shape, no missing stones, and a clasp that functions correctly present better and require no deduction. Significant wear, bent settings, or stone loss reduces the offer because the buyer must account for repair costs. Pieces that are structurally sound but cosmetically worn are still purchased — we just price the remediation into the offer.
Current market demand for certain stones. Colored stone values shift with fashion and collector cycles. Natural alexandrite, Burma ruby, and Kashmir sapphire with laboratory documentation currently trade at significant premiums. Unheated stones — those with no heat treatment per GIA or Gübelin report — often command 2–5x the price of heated equivalents in the same size range. If you own a colored stone with origin or treatment documentation, it is worth bringing that paperwork.

Common Questions
Where can I sell jewelry in San Antonio?
Watch Affinity at 11808 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78230. We are open Monday–Friday 11am–6pm and Saturday 11am–3pm. No appointment is needed — walk in and we will evaluate your piece the same day. We buy diamond rings, estate jewelry, designer brands, fine gemstones, and gold.
How much is my diamond ring worth?
Diamond ring value is primarily driven by the center stone's carat weight, cut, color, and clarity — the 4Cs. A GIA-certified center stone commands a meaningfully higher offer than an uncertified stone because the grade is independently verified. Setting metal (14k vs. 18k vs. platinum) and any designer hallmark add additional value. The only way to get an accurate number is an in-person evaluation — bring your ring in and we will give you a written offer for free.
Do I need a GIA certificate to sell my jewelry?
No. We evaluate every piece independently on site. A GIA or AGS certificate does increase the offer — removing grade uncertainty typically adds 15–25% — but it is not a requirement. Bring any documentation you have; if there is none, the offer reflects what we can verify in person.
Do you buy jewelry without the original box?
Yes. Original packaging and receipts are most impactful for designer brands like Cartier and Tiffany, where they can add 10–20% to the offer. For most fine jewelry, the piece itself matters far more than the packaging. We purchase with or without the original box.
How quickly will I get paid?
Payment is immediate upon acceptance — cash on the spot, bank wire the same day, or store credit toward a future purchase. There are no waiting periods, no consignment delays, and no platform fees deducted after the fact.
Is it better to sell jewelry locally or online?
Selling locally eliminates shipping and insurance risk on a valuable item, platform consignment fees of 15–30%, and the 2–6 week turnaround typical of online buyers. You get a face-to-face explanation of the offer, can ask questions directly, and receive payment the same day. For most sellers, the security and immediacy of a local transaction outweigh any marginal difference in gross proceeds — especially after platform fees and shipping are deducted from an online offer.
Find Us
Located on Wurzbach Rd near the intersection with UTSA Blvd, Watch Affinity serves jewelry sellers throughout San Antonio — from the Medical Center area and Stone Oak to Alamo Heights, Helotes, and the broader Hill Country corridor.
San Antonio has a strong tradition of multi-generational estate jewelry — pieces passed down from family collections that deserve a knowledgeable buyer who can properly evaluate an Art Deco platinum ring or a vintage sapphire brooch, not simply weigh it for melt. That is the difference we offer.
Every evaluation is free and zero-pressure. If our offer is not the right fit, you leave with your jewelry and a clear picture of what it would take to sell it — with no obligation and no fee.
